Silicone rubber is a sealant and caulking material first developed by NASA for sealing space capsule components. It's a wonderful invention but it can be very difficult to work with. Removing and/or cleaning up silicone can be a mess, hence this web site.

Silicone adhesive is a heavy-duty glue that comes in several different varieties, including traditional silicone bond, high temperature silicone glue, Room Temperature Vulcanizing (RTV) adhesive, and silicone rubber sealant. Silicone adhesive remains flexible without losing its adhesive strength even after it has cured. This flexibility has made it popular in construction, manufacturing, the automotive sector, and the visual arts. Silicone adhesives are generally used on glass, ceramic, metal, china as well as many plastic surfaces.

Silicones from Amazon:

Standard silicone adhesive is available as a two-part process, requiring the mixture of the glue and curing agent together. This variety dries quite quickly but is quite thick and hard to work with.

Most of us, however, are familiar with the silicone-in-a-tube adhesive (RTV silicone), which starts drying as soon as it makes contact with the air and sets quickly at room temperature. It is frequently used as a household glue and caulk, sealing up holes or cracks in glass, metal, fabric, weather stripping, and vinyl.

High temperature silicone adhesive is a strong epoxy used in very hot environments such as in bonding automobile gaskets, weatherproofing high voltage electrical equipment, and sealing heating and ventilation systems, including chimneys and ducts. It is able to withstand temperature spikes and extreme weather conditions.
